What We Believe

We believe in the one true God of the universe. He is the one who has revealed Himself to us through the Bible. We learn about Him through the pages of scripture. It is in the Bible where we learn about how God made us, how we sinned against Him and how in His great love He sent His Son, Jesus to make the only way of salvation for all who are willing to believe. Below you can read through a more detailed summary of what we believe.

Bible

Revelation - Inerrancy - Authority
1. Revelation: The source of every verse in the Bible is from the direct revelation of and from the authority of the God of the universe. Although God used many men in different times & in unique ways to pen the words of scripture… He is indeed the origin, the source and the guide for all that was ever written.

2. Inerrancy: Every verse in the Bible is exactly what God intended it to be…there is nothing missing, nothing lacking and there are no errors, whatsoever. Although there are many translations & versions of the Bible in existence today… The original writings themselves and in comparison to what we have today; are exactly what God intended us to have.

3. Authority: Because God is the author of every verse in the Bible, then every verse has authority over the life of every human. Although the Bible is ‘simply’ another group of words, written on pages, collected in book form…it carries a profound spiritual power and authority over man, granted by God Himself.

God

Trinity - Eternal - Holy
1. Trinity: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who exists as three distinct divine persons, yet all are One, as God, in essence and nature. Although God exists a trinity of three persons or three members; all three persons of the trinity are equally God and equally possess all of the attributes of God in full.  The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, who is three distinct divine persons, yet One God…share fully in the divine nature and have equally & fully the nature & attributes of God.

2. Eternal: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who has always existed & will always exist as three distinct divine persons, yet all are One, eternal God. God has always and will always exist as three in one; Father, Son and Spirit. God has always been, will always be…There never was and never will be a day or an age in eternity past or eternity future where God will not exist.

3. Holy: God is set apart: morally. He stands-alone in His moral perfections. He alone is perfect, He alone is absolutely morally pure and He alone is blameless. He alone cannot sin. Everything God thinks, desires & does is morally perfect, without fault or blemish. God cannot do evil, He can do no wrong. Every action God takes is holy. He is completely morally pure and without fault, without sin. He is utterly perfect and flawless in all of His thoughts, all of His actions and all of His desires. Nothing but moral excellence & holiness can proceed from Him.
Omniscient - Omnipotent - Omnipresent
1. Omniscient: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who knows all that can be known or ever will be known, perfectly and instantly. God knows everything: everything possible, everything actual; all events and all creatures, of the past, the present & the future, perfectly and instantly. There is nothing that God does not know. God has not learned and will never learn anything new or something that He did not already know, perfectly & instantly for all of eternity. Nothing escapes His notice. Nothing can be hidden from Him. His knowledge is perfect. God knows all of our thoughts. God knows all of our motives. God knows all of our actions.

2. Omnipotent: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who has all power: Possessing unlimited and infinite, power, strength and force. God has all actual ability: He has the unlimited, infinite, sovereign ability to use that power freely, fully & instantly, without constraint to enforce however and whenever He wants.  God has all authoritarian power: He has the unlimited, infinite & sovereign authority to use that power freely, fully & instantly, without consent, permission or outer constraint from anything or anyone else. God never wishes that He could do something but He simply does not have sufficient ability or authority to do it.

3. Omnipresent: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who is ever present, everywhere, at once. God is at all places at the same time, all the time. There is nowhere that God is not or ever was not or ever will not be. There is nowhere that we can go where God is not. God is not only everywhere, but He has always been there and will always be there.
Maker - Lord - Judge
1. Merciful Maker: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is the One who created all things, visible and invisible, by the power of His Word. God made all things. Whether galaxies, planets, animals, plants or people; there is nothing that exists that was not made by God. God not only made all things, but He made all things good for the creature. God made a world in perfect working order for the good of man.

2. Loving Lord: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who is by His very nature loving. Essential to His character is true love. God is also, by His very nature, LORD of all. Essential to His being is His authority over all. Because The LORD is Creator-Owner, He has full authority to instruct His creation as to what they should do and He has full authority to hold us accountable unto those commands. God is by His very nature both loving and LORD. Essential to His character is both true love for His creation and authority over all the same creation. His love & lordship are displayed in His instruction.

3. Just Judge: The God of the universe, laid forth in the Bible, is One who is entirely just in all His ways, including His position as Judge over all of the acts of man. Man is accountable to God and will stand before God as Judge.

Jesus

God - Son - Savior
1. God: Jesus of Nazareth, the One born to Mary & Joseph is God in human flesh. Jesus is not only fully human, but also fully God Himself.

2. God's only Son: Though Jesus exists as God by divine nature, He is distinct from God, The Father. Jesus exists as God’s One and only Son. And The Father, Son and Holy Spirit collectively exist as One God. From when it existed in the mind of God to deliver mankind from their sin...The Son would be sent to the world by The Father, empower & guided by The Holy Spirit, to become The Deliverer, in the form of a man.

3. Promised Savior: From when it existed in the mind of God to deliver mankind from their sin; God promised that one day there would come A Male Deliverer. This was first promised to Adam & Eve upon their sin in the Garden of God and this Promised Savior was reaffirmed all throughout the ages.
Crucified - Resurrected - Returning
1. Crucified: Jesus of Nazareth is The Promised Messiah and was crucified as a criminal on a cross in Jerusalem, though the authorities had declared Him innocent of any wrong doing. We believe that the death of Jesus was
God putting forward Jesus, the innocent one, in our sin-guilty place, so that He might take our punishment in order that we might go free.

2. Resurrected: We believe that Jesus was raised from the dead by the mighty power of God. After His resurrection He was seen alive by His closest followers, as well as over five hundred others…before eventually returning to God.

3. Returning: We believe in the promised future return of Christ in glory, when it is understood that He will gather the believers unto Himself, set up His kingdom, judge His enemies, and reward the faithful, living and dead.

Holy Spirit

Seal - Counselor - Guide
1. Seal: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ…upon their belief, they are indwelt by the third member of the Trinity; The Holy Spirit of God. First and foremost, The Holy Spirit is a promissory seal, wherein God promises to protect the safe delivery of the believer unto eternity future and to bestow on them all that was promised unto them.

2. Counselor: The second-most role of The Holy Spirit is that of Counselor, Helper or Advocate…wherein The Holy Spirit is a ‘comforter’ ‘helper’ and ‘empowerer’ in the absence of the physical Christ.

3. Guide: The third-most role of The Holy Spirit is that of teacher or guide…wherein The Holy Spirit reminds the believer of the truth, compels them to live in the truth and convicts them when they have strayed from the truth.

Man

Creation - Rebellion - Separated
1. Special Creation: Mankind, the pinnacle of God’s creation, laid forth in the Bible, are a specially created being and are uniquely gifted by God…far beyond the rest of His creation. Humans are a special creation of God; in that they were made in the image of God, they are loved by God and they can have friendship with God. Humans are uniquely gifted by God in that they were given the world as a gift, the rule over it as a special position and the working care within it as a special responsibility.

2. Great Rebellion: Like Lucifer before them, having been given such a special position & privilege; mankind should gladly respond in thanksgiving, praise and obedience to God. However, like Lucifer before them, in a desire to rule themselves & not be ruled over and a desire for more; mankind rebels against God by following the counsel of God’s enemy: Satan.

3. Sinner Separated: When the man and woman followed the way of Satan in the garden…they became sinners, separated from God. As a result of their sin they were immediately removed from the presence of & friendship with God. Ever since the first man and woman followed the way of Satan in the garden… all of their offspring after them have been born into the condition of enemies; sinners, separated from God. Whenever & wherever a human is born, they are born into the condition of the curse. That is; they are born into the spiritual-status of the consequences of the just judgements from the fall.

Satan

Enemy - Deceiver
1. Enemy: Satan, the great force of evil, laid forth in the Bible, is a fierce enemy of God and of man. He fights against God and against man at every turn…attempting to destroy God’s will and plan for man and earth. From since his fall from heaven, Satan has been fighting against God and trying to overthrow God and everything that God desires and does.

2. Deceiver: From since his fall from heaven, Satan has been a deceiver. His primary weapon is that of deceit, lies, and anything that is contrary to the truth from God. From his deception which led away a great number of the heavenly host in rebellion against God, to his great lie to mankind in the garden; Satan has always masked himself in falsehood. His goal is to overpower God and to destroy humanity, by disbelief in the truth.

3. Prince of the power of the air: Ever since the first man and woman followed the way of Satan in the garden…Satan has become the de facto ruler of this physical world, having become the leader of the hearts & minds of mankind. Satan and his demons roam the earth looking for ways to belittle the truth and turn men against God and each other. Their goal is to prevent man from coming to God, obeying God and serving God. Although Satan’s fate is sealed, he is allowed to unleash all sorts of havoc on the earth as he continues to sway as many as possible to join his mission to resist God and live for the pleasures of self & sin.

Sin

Disbelief - Selfish Independence - Missing the Mark
1. Disbelief: Sin is anything thought, desired, said or done which is different from and against what God has said is right! These actions are rooted in a belief that God does not have our interest in mind and that we know a better way of morality, pleasure & satisfaction.

2. Selfish Independence: Sinful actions stem from the disdain of having divine authority over us and the desire to be independent of that authority. This manifests itself in all sorts of evil behaviors which are contrary to God’s authority over us a revealed in His Word and His innate moral conviction.

3. Missing the Mark: Sin is when mankind falls short of the infinitely, holy standard of God, as demonstrated through either His ‘unwritten law’ (Our conscience) or His ‘written law’ (Scripture).
Death to: Relationship, Body, Future Joy
1. Death to a Relationship: When Adam and Eve chose to eat from the tree which God had commanded them not to eat from; they broke His moral code. In doing so they were instantly separated from God in relationship, that is; they died spiritually.

2.  Death to the Body: When Adam and Eve chose to eat from the tree which God had commanded them not to eat from; they broke His moral code. In response God confirmed that they would eventually be separated from their body; and they began to die physically.

3. Death to a Future Joy: As a result of being spiritually separated from God and failing to live up to His moral code; humans are also at risk of experiencing eternal separation from God upon their physical death if they are not connected back into friendship with God before their death.

Sacrificial System

Blood Sacrifice - Substitution - Picture of the Savior
1. Blood Sacrifice: When Adam & Eve had broken God’s moral code in the garden, God made temporary amends/atonement for their sins through a blood-death sacrifice. This act would initiate a temporary sacrificial system by which mankind could come to God.

2. Substitution: God initiated a temporary sacrificial system by which mankind could come to God.  In this system, God would temporarily meet the demands of His perfect-justice, while also preparing the way for a perfect & permanent-solution.

3. Picture of the Savior: Within every aspect of this temporary system, were hidden symbols (unknown at the time) which powerfully foreshadowed what God would ultimately do for mankind’s sin through a perfect-permanent solution.

Salvation

Grace Alone - Through Christ Alone - Faith Alone
1. Grace Alone: All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…and are helpless to save themselves.  Salvation therefore is the free gift of God to man. It is given by God’s grace alone and not through any merit on the part of the believer.

2. Through Christ Alone: Salvation is the free gift of God to man. It is given by God’s grace alone and mediated through Jesus Christ alone.

3. By Faith Alone: Salvation is the free gift of God to man. It is given by God’s grace alone, which is mediated through Jesus Christ alone and is received by faith alone. Biblical faith is being fully confident that God will indeed do the very things which He has said/promised that He would do, most often in the future.
Eternal Purpose - Temporary Condition - Walk By Faith
1. Eternal Purpose: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, they are given a glorious, unchangeable and eternal position before the God of the Universe.

2. Temporary Condition: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, they remain on earth for the duration of their life. During that time they will encounter all sorts of temptations, trials and troubles.  Believers will also face battling their sinful flesh; which they will retain as long as they live on earth. In that, they will still be tempted by sin and otherwise stumble while they wait for that day. Although they are ‘positionally’ perfect etc. Believers, as they remain on earth, will encounter all sorts of temptations, trials and troubles…including a lifelong battle with their remaining sin nature.

3. Walking By Faith: While the believer remains on earth, retaining their fleshly sin nature, they are to walk by faith in Christ and walk in obedience to the truth as they await the day of their salvation! While the believer remains on earth, by the power of The Holy Spirit, they are to put to death the deeds
of their sinful nature and they are to put on the divine nature of Christ in all their ways.

Believer

Child - Servant - Disciple
1. Child: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ; they have become the children of God…wherein they are adopted into His household and have become heirs of His kingdom & grace.

2. Servant: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ; they have become the servants of God…wherein they are to submit themselves to His will & mission and they are to gladly serve others.

3. Disciple: For those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ…they are to become the Lord’s disciple! A disciple is a follower of Christ who applies themselves to the study of God’s Word and who is careful to observe and keep the commands of Christ and the instructions He gave.
Submissive - Rebellious - Work In Progress
1. Submissive: For those who are children of God…they are to willfully, gladly & obediently bring all of their desires, choices & actions under the direction of the will & desire of their Lord, Jesus!

2. Rebellious: For those who are children of God, they retain their sin nature (flesh) while they remain on earth, which gives them the ability to choose sin or disobedience at any given time.  The power of the sin nature remains strong in humans and by the power of The Holy Spirit they must resist its urges!

3. Work In Progress: For those who are children of God, as they await the day of redemption, God’s goal, by His Spirit is to conform them more & more into the image of Jesus. The will of God is that when a believer comes to a crossroad, intersecting with the choice to follow sin & disobedience, they would choose the path of holiness & obedience.

The Church

Evangelism - Discipleship - Missions
1. Evangelism: For those who have been saved by the gospel; they are to willingly, gladly & regularly share the truth about the Lord with those who don’t yet believe. Evangelism is coming alongside an unbeliever, who is willing to receive your input, in an effort to help them realize the invisible, eternal & spiritual realities of this world, which are presented in God’s Word & in The Gospel.

2. Discipleship: For those who have been saved by the gospel; they are to willingly, gladly and regularly be involved in the discipleship process. Discipleship is being helped or helping someone else follow Christ; by guiding them into an understanding of & growing in observance of the commands
of Christ and the instructions He gave.

3. Missions: For those who have been saved by the gospel; they are to willingly, gladly and regularly send the message of the gospel to all languages & people groups, specifically those ones who have not yet heard/cannot hear.
Worship - Fellowship - Service
1. Worship: For those who have been saved by the gospel and adopted into the household of God, they are to willingly, gladly and regularly worship the Lord.

2. Fellowship: For those who have been saved by the gospel and adopted into the household of God, they are to willingly, gladly and regularly meet together.

3. Service: For those who have been saved by the gospel and adopted into the household of God, they are to willingly, gladly and regularly serve The Lord and others.

The End

His Return - Heaven - Hell
1. His Return: We believe in the promised future return of Christ, when it is understood that He will gather the believers unto Himself, judge His enemies, set up His kingdom, and reward the faithful; living and dead

2. Heaven: For those who have been saved by the gospel having been willing to believe in the Lord Jesus; upon their death or upon Christ’s return they will be gathered unto Christ in heaven.

3. Hell: For those who have not been saved by the gospel and who refused to believe in the Lord Jesus; upon their death or upon Christ’s return they will be gathered unto a place of eternal, conscious torment.
